Rain is primal. We need it. Momentarily, they say, we’ll be getting some here in L.A., where we’ve just experienced the horrific catastrophe of fire caused by drought and high winds in the dead of winter. My heart goes out to everyone who lost their home, or business, or loved ones. To receive precious water falling from the sky right now will be a balm for our souls. Let us hope it is not destructive in any way.

The images here are from another time where rain ended a four year drought in L.A.
I woke one morning to find these welcome raindrops gracing the glass of my outdoor patio table. The glass created shape-shadow reflections of the drops and also mirrored the trees hanging overhead, even a few geometric lines emerge subtly from underneath the table. Like double or triple exposures, these forms dance together magically in multidimensional compositions.
